- Tariff measures have intensified as Trump imposed an additional 25% tariff on imports from India, with another 25% set for three weeks later, while buying Russian oil has saved India billions.
- Facing an import deadline, Trump warned India to find alternative suppliers in three weeks or face tariffs doubling from 25% to 50% and secondary sanctions on Russian oil buyers by Friday.
- Later this year, Modi said 'I look forward to hosting President Putin in India' and reiterated India's call for a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict.
