A new breast cancer prevention program is being launched in disadvantaged settlements in Hungary: in cooperation with the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service and Vajda-Papír, 12 mobile health clinics will bring cancer screening information and consultation opportunities closer to women who have difficulty accessing healthcare due to their place of residence, living situation or social circumstances.

In Hungary, only three out of ten women take advantage of free breast cancer screening, while around eight thousand new cases are diagnosed each year. In October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an initiative was launched to bring screening information and healthcare assistance closer to the hardest-to-reach settlements.
Disadvantaged women living in the poorest settlements often find it more difficult to access health care because of their place of residence and social conditions. This situation is being alleviated by the breast cancer prevention mobile program, which is now being launched.
