Unanimous Decision: UFC and IBM Introduce New AI-Driven In-Fight Insights
The AI platform uses over 13.2 million data points from 20+ years of UFC fights to deliver live alerts on key moments and records, enhancing fan engagement, IBM said.
- On Saturday, November 15 at Madison Square Garden, UFC and IBM debut In-Fight Insights at UFC 322, an AI-driven platform reporting live fight turning points.
- Since November 2024, the UFC and IBM partnership has built the UFC Insights Engine using IBM Watson/watsonx, drawing on more than 13.2 million data points from 20+ years and over 2,400 athletes.
- Integrated into broadcast feeds, the engine identifies key fight moments and triggers alerts for analysts, broadcasters and production teams to provide fans immediate contextual insights.
- Executives say `The launch of In-Fight Insights is the latest example of how AI is really changing the game for the live sports viewing experience for fans around the world` to enhance viewer engagement and archive fight data in the UFC Insights Engine.
- Given UFC's global reach, the IBM–UFC collaboration launched one year ago with its first live in-fight integration and plans to scale across UFC platforms to reach more than 700 million fans.
