Search crews used drones, aircraft and helicopters to locate Shaun Mackelprang after six days missing on a solo hike, authorities said.

- Mackelprang began his trek to nearly 14,000-foot Gannett Peak on August 20, departing from the Green River Lakes Trailhead in the Bridger-Teton National Forest.
- Rescue teams discovered the hiker near Scott Lake on Wednesday. His brother, Romel Mackelprang, told Cowboy State Daily he "reached the summit but became dehydrated and disoriented during his descent."
- Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway said her office is "beyond grateful for everyone's prayers and the steadfast work" of the Sublette County Sheriff's Office and Tip Top Search.
- Following his extraction via helicopter, the Sublette County Sheriff confirmed Mackelprang was transported to a hospital, with photos later showing him reuniting with loved ones on an airfield tarmac.
