Arrest Made in Shooting of Star Mizzou Running Back Ahmad Hardy
Ahmad Hardy is expected to begin rehab this week, and Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz said his return to football remains uncertain.
Missouri Tigers All-American Ahmad Hardy was released from Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, on Tuesday after being shot in the leg Sunday at a concert in Laurel, and has since returned to Columbia.
The shooting occurred at the Kamakazy Biker Club in Laurel, Mississippi, where Hardy was attending a concert; a second victim was also shot in the chest and remains in stable condition at the hospital.
Police arrested Rashodrick Harris, 20, in Paducah, Kentucky, early Friday morning after the Laurel Police Department used security video to identify him as the suspect and issued an arrest warrant following witness interviews.
Sgt. Macon Davis of the Laurel Police Department confirmed Harris will face two counts of aggravated assault and awaits extradition to Mississippi, while three other individuals initially detained were released without charges.
Missouri Tigers head coach Eli Drinkwitz said Hardy's return timeline remains uncertain, but emphasized, "He will get back healthy," as the team provides full support for the running back's recovery.
