Minto lowers tax levy increase; budget now in council review period

MINTO – Staff here have recommended lowering the town tax levy increase from 4.08 per cent to 3.98%. The change, included as part the proposed final 2026 Minto budget, was presented at a Dec. 16 council meeting by treasurer Gordon Duff. The tax-supported operating budget totals about $7.18 million and based on a typical house assessed at $250,000, there would be an increase of $73 in town taxes next year.
