Minnesota teen in crash provides gift of life to others

CLARA CITY, MINNESOTA, AUG 01 – Brady Heiling, who had a rare AB positive blood type, donated organs that may save multiple lives after a crash caused by a wrong-way driver, his family said.

  • At the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, Brady Heiling, 19-year-old Clara City native, died July 25 after a crash on Interstate 39/90/94 near DeForest, Wisconsin.
  • On July 19, 2025, Brady Heiling and Hallie Helgeson attended a Coldplay concert at Camp Randall Stadium when an allegedly intoxicated wrong-way driver caused a head-on crash.
  • Ahead of the transplant on July 26, Brady Heiling had a rare AB positive blood type, matching only about 2% of the population, and his heart function reached 55%.
