Ministry of Agriculture: Applications to Return to African Swine Fever-Free Zones to Be Accepted Starting Next February

On October 22 this year, a pig farm in Taichung confirmed a local outbreak of African swine fever (ASF). As of now, the cases are limited to the affected farm. On the 9th, the Ministry of Agriculture stated that Taiwan will apply to the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) to return to a disease-free zone on February 21, 2026.
