Ionuz Mousteanu, Minister of Defence, said on Sunday, on Digi24 that the F-16 aircraft had approved to defeat the Russian drone that landed Saturday in Romania's airspace, but after assessing "colateral risks", they decided not to open the fire. He considers this incident a cause from Russia and says that Romania will have a diplomatic response by calling the Russian ambassador to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Minister of Defence Ionutz Mošteanu announced in a Facebook post Sunday that the Romanian pilots who had intercepted a Russian drone near the border had permission to do so, but decided not to draw to avoid possible victims or side payments.
