The Minister of Labour, Rosário Palma Ramalho, said on Tuesday that the Government "does not close the door or open the door" to a high revision of the national minimum wage foreseen for 2027, currently set at 970 euros in the agreement with the social partners. The Secretary of State for Labour, however, argued that the negotiations to increase this value "should" be in progress.

The Minister of Labour maintains a neutral position on the revision of the minimum wage of 2027 and makes any change to the current agreement to renegotiate with the social partners.

The current agreement foresees annual increases of EUR 50 per year to reach EUR 1,020 by 2028, but the electoral programme of this executive set the target of EUR 1,100 gross by 2029.
