According to the findings of customs, thousands of employers in Germany violate the statutory minimum wage. As the Federal Ministry of Finance reported on a request from the left, last year the financial control of undeclared work of customs checked almost 26,000 employers nationwide. In a good 6,000 cases proceedings were initiated for alleged violations of the minimum wage law.
The increase in the minimum wage is intended to secure decent pay for employees, but it is not fully paid over and over again. A request from the left shows that irregularities occur in almost every fourth company when checked. However, the number of checks is low.
