Weber Recalls 3.2 Million Wire-Bristle Grill Brushes
Weber recalled over 3.2 million grill brushes with metal bristles that can cause internal injuries if ingested; replacements with nylon bristles are offered, the CPSC said.
- Weber-Stephen Products LLC announced a voluntary recall on Feb. 26, 2026, of about 3.2 million metal wire-bristle grill brushes nationwide.
- Included are model numbers 6277, 6278, 6463, 6464, 6493 and 6494 sold at Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, Target, Amazon, and Weber.com from 2011 through 2026 for about $10 to $17.
- Weber reported at least 38 incidents of bristles detaching, including four consumers who swallowed bristles and sought medical treatment, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.
- Consumers should stop using the recalled brushes and contact Weber for a free nylon-bristle replacement; call 877-597-9588, recall number 26-282.
- Weber-Stephen Products LLC, Palatine, Illinois, made the brushes in China and Cambodia; the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends aluminum foil or nylon brushes and posts recall details online.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall for a grilling utensil due to ingestion hazard.
