Miles rejects new Olympic arena in favour of $1.6bn refurbishment

Summary by Ground News
Queensland Premier Steven Miles has rejected the key recommendation from a review into which venues should be used at the 2032 Olympics. A two-month review was commissioned after significant backlash to the state government's planned $2.7bn rebuild of the Gabba stadium. Instead of this, the review called for a new $3.4bn stadium to be built north-west of Brisbane's CBD. Miles resoundingly rejected this recommendation.
