Middle Tennessee drops CUSA Opener 6-1 to Kennesaw State

MURFREESBORO, Tenn.—Middle Tennessee (10-8, 0-1 CUSA) reliever Gavin King entered the game in the fifth inning against Kennesaw State (8-6, 1-0 CUSA) and did his part to keep the Blue Raiders in the ballgame, tossing five innings of one-run ball, giving up just two hits. King also had a career-high five strikeouts in the effort, but it wasn't enough for the Blue Raiders to overcome an early deficit in a 6-1 loss to the Owls.
