The Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, Marco Vinelli, reported that 19 forest fires remain active in the country and another 20 were controlled during this year’s emergency season. The official added that the government has deployed ground and air personnel and equipment to fight fires in regions such as Cusco, Junín and Puno.
Minister Marco Vinelli details that 385 casualties have been recorded at national level as far as the year goes. Also, confirm the deployment of aircraft and brigades to fight fire.
The Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, Marco Vinelli, said that Cusco, Cajamarca and Áncash recorded the greatest number of emergencies due to forest fires. He also reported that between July and October, these casualties caused the death of five people.
