Michael Douglas Talks Affair with Kathleen Turner, Growing up in His Dad's Shadow
Douglas says the 40-year secret began on the set of Romancing the Stone and was hidden to protect his wife and son.
- In his new memoir One Helluva Ride, Oscar-winning actor Michael Douglas recounts a past confrontation with actress Julia Roberts at a Golden Globes party, describing it as a "wildly embarrassing incident" that troubled him for years.
- Douglas, 82, writes he reacted after seeing Roberts nuzzling his 13-year-old son, Cameron, while she attended with her date, actor Kiefer Sutherland, during the early 1990s event.
- Recalling the moment, Douglas told Roberts to "take your hands off my son and take that Golden Globe and stick it where the sun don't shine," a remark he later regretted deeply.
- To mend their working relationship on Flatliners, Douglas sent Roberts roses and apologized in person to both her and Sutherland, who "forgave me enough" to finish filming the production.
- Elsewhere in the memoir, the 82-year-old reflects on past romances, including a secret relationship with actress Kathleen Turner, now 72, during filming of 1984's Romancing the Stone.
