- Seven ranked teams lost in Week 4, causing four programs to drop out of the poll, including Penn State, which fell after losing to Wisconsin at home.
- The Big 12 now features five ranked teams, the most since Oct. 26, 2025, as Oklahoma State joined the rankings for the first time in two years after winning at West Virginia.
