Metra reopens Grayland station in Irving Park after years of construction

The $39.5 million project included replacing a 124-year-old railroad bridge and adding ADA-compliant features, funded partly by federal agencies and Canadian Pacific.

Metra reopened Thursday its Grayland station on the Northwest Side after nearly four years of construction. The renovated station features longer platforms, ADA-compliant ramps and stairs and new warming shelters. Riders had been using a temporary stop a few blocks south of the remodeled station at 3729 N.
