Prime Vice-President PNL Ciprian Ciucu reacted after the party leader, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, was fled to Constanta, claiming that he was aware of what was going to happen, but nevertheless went to Navy Day, because someone had to be there and represent the Romanian state. His statement is made in the context of the fact that, for the second consecutive year, President Nicusor Dan was not present at the ceremonies held in Constanta.
The Navy Day was celebrated, Saturday, in six cities, the centre of the activities being in Constanta, where more than 3,500 Romanian and foreign soldiers took part in the military ceremony and the naval and air exercises organized.
The speech of interim premier Ilie Bolojan, supported on Saturday on the cliff of the Constantine Casino on the occasion of the Day of the Romanian Navy, was marked by moments of tension. While the Chief Executive transmitted a strong message on security to the Black Sea and the provision of Naval Forces, part of the audience present at the demonstrations greeted him with whistles and holes.
Premier Ilie Bolojan participated, together with ministers Radu Miruţa and Cătălin Predoiu, by presidential adviser Mihai Lăzurca and DSU chief Raed Arafat, at the Marine Days of Constanta.
