- Mercuria Americas and Continental Resources announced a partnership on Thursday to build the 452 MW Pecos Power Plant in Texas, strengthening U.S. energy independence and supporting accelerating demand on the ERCOT grid.
- The facility will utilize 24 reciprocating internal combustion engines to provide dispatchable power, balancing intermittent renewable resources and ensuring reliable electricity delivery across Texas.
- Developed with the Pecos Economic Development Corporation, the project will power 200,000 homes while creating hundreds of construction and long-term skilled jobs in the Permian Basin.
- Harold Hamm, Founder and Chairman Emeritus of Continental Resources, stated, "The future of American energy doesn't stop at the wellhead, it extends all the way to the power grid." Mercuria Energy Co-Founder Daniel Jaeggi called Continental an "ideal partner."
