Mercedes-AMG's First Bespoke EV Looks Almost Ready To Activate Its 1,000-HP Rocket Thrusters (Okay, They're Just Taillights)

Mercedes-AMG will reveal its first bespoke electric sedan based on the AMG.EA platform by June 2025, in Europe and globally.
AMG developed the AMG.EA architecture to support high-performance batteries from Sila Nanotechnologies and axial-flux motors from YASA.
The sedan’s design is influenced by the 2022 Vision AMG concept and is powered by a pair of electric motors delivering nearly 1,000 horsepower and more than 1,000 lb-ft of torque.
Mercedes-AMG CEO Michael Schiebe emphasized that the new model will stand apart from the current electric vehicles on the market, offering an immersive experience similar to that of a traditional gas-powered performance car. Prototype drives by U.S. Dealers reportedly left them smiling, completely changing their perceptions of electric cars.
The new electric sedan is designed to challenge high-performance rivals like Porsche’s flagship electric model and Audi’s RS e-tron GT, while the existing AMG GT 4-Door with traditional combustion engines will continue to be offered.
