The National Assembly unanimously voted in the evening of Wednesday November 20 in favor of maintaining the exemption allowing the use of meal vouchers in supermarkets to buy food products. The Senate has yet to decide.

On Wednesday, deputies adopted the extension of this measure, which was welcomed by employees but criticized by restaurant owners.
On Wednesday, the National Assembly adopted, as a matter of urgency, the extension until the end of 2026 of an exemption, which allows restaurant tickets to be used to buy all food products. An aid to the purchasing power of workers regretted by restaurant owners.
The initial version of the text, as arrived in committee, provided for an extension of one year, but MEPs adopted an amendment by deputy Olivia Grégoire making the measure permanent. The final adoption has yet to be confirmed by a vote in the Senate.
A text adopted on Wednesday November 20 at the National Assembly authorizes, until December 31, 2026, to pay in restaurant vouchers for purchases of food products, and not only those directly consumed, in supermarkets.
