Melville city workers vote overwhelmingly in favour of strike action, to back contract demands
Melville city workers have voted overwhelmingly in favour of job action, with 93 per cent of members in support. Over 90 per cent of eligible members voted. Currently, the city employs 32 permanent staff who are members of CUPE 456, and bargaining with the City has been ongoing since March of last year, after the last collective agreement between the two sides expired at the end of 2023.
