The President of the Republic said he did not expect everything to be resolved this Thursday, but that the normal thing in a democracy is for the parties to meet and discuss the issues among themselves.
The Head of State was questioned as to whether the Presidency of the Republic had any intervention in changing the attitude of the police in demonstrations for housing and replied: "The Presidency of the Republic, and in particular the President of the Republic, acts when, as it should, sometimes with discretion, sometimes with the public note of what it is doing".
António José Seguro called for serenity, responsibility and dialogue between the parties and reinforces that, despite not having legislative power, the Head of State has taken initiatives to contribute to solutions that solve the housing crisis.
President of the Republic argued that democracy is not only "vote and be able to speak freely", but also that political actors "can solve people's problems in concrete terms".
