Tadhg Furlong Cited for Alleged Incident in Munster Clash
Officials may refer the alleged groin grab to the citing commissioner after referee Andrew Brace stopped play and found no footage.
On Saturday, Leinster defeated Munster 24-18 at Aviva Stadium, a match marked by Munster's Gavin Coombes alleging he was grabbed in the groin by an opponent during the 39th minute.
Although officials Andrew Brace and Colin Stanley could not find evidence during the game, citing commissioner Peter Ferguson of Scotland has 50 hours from full-time to investigate; Tadhg Furlong has been cited under Law 9.27.
Munster head coach Clayton McMillan said he backs Coombes "100%" on the allegation, while Leinster coach Leo Cullen stated "I can't see anything there, from what I can see."
Leinster rallied from 13-0 down to secure a bonus-point win with four tries, though Munster captain Tadhg Beirne acknowledged the team's discipline needs improvement in the second half.
Furlong could face a sanction following a disciplinary hearing at a later date, creating a potential blow to Ireland head coach Andy Farrell ahead of the Nations Championship resumption next weekend.
