McDonald's drops cryptic clue after Monopoly ends for good after 20 years
McDonald’s says the new menu will feature fan favourites from seven countries as it replaces the annual Monopoly game in UK and Ireland restaurants.
McDonald will launch its World Menu Heist at all Ireland restaurants on September 22, featuring items inspired by global markets including Germany, Canada, the UAE, the Netherlands, India, China, and Australia.
After 20 years, the Monopoly promotion has been discontinued; the chain confirmed earlier this month that the contest, which last ran in Ireland from September 10 to October 21, 2025, would not return this year.
On Facebook, the official McDonald account teased the upcoming menu by sharing images of a gold vault marked with symbols including a snowflake, cheese, and padlock, leaving Customers guessing the meaning behind the cryptic post.
While some Customers expressed disappointment on social media, with One saying, "If it's not monopoly then I'm not interested," a McDonald spokesperson stated the company is "always looking for new ways to surprise and delight our customers."
The returning World Menu Heist features items including Canada's Maple and Cheddar Chicken and Australia's Chicken and Egg McMuffin, positioning the promotion to fill the void left by the cancelled Monopoly game.
