Powerful wind gusts led to mass power outages in northeastern Poland. On Saturday afternoon (August 22), approximately 145,000 customers remained without power, including over 70,000 in the Białystok area. By evening, utility companies had managed to repair some of the mass outages.
145,000 customers in northeastern Poland, primarily in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, are without power. This is the result of massive outages related to very strong winds. While the outages are being repaired, the weather is causing new outages.
Difficult weather conditions are causing "mass outages" in the power grid. Energa Operator initially reported power outages in the Płock and Toruń areas, later adding Olsztyn to the list. PGE Dystrybucja is reporting problems in the Podlasie region. Across northeastern Poland, the problem could affect up to 200,000 customers.
