German environmental groups are seeking to halt oil and gas extraction from a large deposit discovered off Poland's Baltic Sea coast.
The dispute over the discovery of rich oil and gas deposits in the Baltic Sea last year, near the island of Usedom, near Świnoujście, is escalating. German environmental organizations have formed an alliance seeking to ban extraction there. They have already collected 88,000 signatures.
