Gwen Farrell, ‘M*A*S*H’ Actress And Pioneering Boxing Ref, Dies At 93

On Thursday, actress Gwen Farrell, best known for her recurring role on the television series M*A*S*H, died of natural causes in Sherman Oaks.
Farrell appeared in 26 episodes of M*A*S*H between 1972 and 1983, portraying various nurses, and held credits in films including Starsky & Hutch and Billy Jack Goes to Washington.
Transitioning to boxing in 1980, Farrell became the first female licensed referee and made history as the first woman to officiate a World Title fight.
The daughter of Fatburger founder Lovie Yancey, Farrell was married to LAPD Detective Frank Adair and remembered by her family as a 'guiding light' and 'steady source of love.'
Her family established a GoFundMe to cover funeral expenses, seeking to raise $13,000 to honor her legacy after her passing left a 'deep void in our hearts.
