Maryland Board of Public Works approves eliminating 500 state jobs
The Maryland Board of Public Works approved more than 500 job cuts from the state government work force on Wednesday. Maryland Gov. Wes Moore said the downsizing is the result of federal job cuts and declining state tax revenue. “Maryland has never been tested like this before,” Moore said. In all, 503 jobs were eliminated.
