Marriott International (NASDAQ:MAR) Hits New 1-Year High on Earnings Beat
Marriott said higher room rates and occupancy drove a 6.5% global RevPAR increase and lifted quarterly profit above Wall Street estimates.
On Monday, Marriott International reported third-quarter profit of $794 million and raised its full-year 2026 global RevPAR growth outlook to 4.5%-5%, citing robust travel demand.
Global RevPAR increased 6.5% year over year, driven by higher average daily rates and occupancy levels, with CEO Anthony Capuano noting "broad-based growth across customer segments and chain scales."
Marriott's development pipeline reached a record of over 634,000 rooms, with conversions representing over 40% of room openings in the first nine months of 2026.
A Marriott spokesperson told Hotel Dive last week that the company expects "job reductions and role changes" as part of a "regular budget and planning process."
Management provided a preliminary 2027 global RevPAR growth view of 3.5%-4.5% while expanding the use of AI to enhance guest experiences and property-level economics.
