Marlins Go on the Offensive Early, Put Away Twins

The Miami Marlins defeated the Minnesota Twins 9-5 on Wednesday night in Minneapolis, evening the three-game series. Owen Caissie hit a two-run homer and Liam Hicks tallied three RBIs to lead Miami's offense.
Xavier Edwards doubled, tripled, and scored three runs, while Caissie's two-run homer helped Miami build an early lead. The Marlins added four runs in the fourth inning to break the game open.
Marlins right-hander Max Meyer earned the win, allowing four runs while striking out nine. Twins starter Simeon Woods Richardson gave up eight runs in three innings.
Byron Buxton hit two solo home runs for Minnesota, and Kody Clemens added a solo shot. Josh Bell stole his first base, ending a 978-game gap between steals since at least 1900.
The Marlins placed LHP Robby Snelling on the 15-day injured list with a sprained UCL on Wednesday. Both teams have yet to designate a starting pitcher for Thursday's series finale.
