A case that shakes the whole of Norway: Marius Borg Hoiby, the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit, wanted to leave prison – but the judges again show no mercy. Despite the strong arguments of his lawyer and emotional words in court, the 29-year-old remains behind bars.
According to the Norwegian publication Dagbladet, a judge has refused to release Crown Princess Mette-Marit's eldest son, Marius Borg Høiby, who was arrested nearly two months ago before his trial began.
29-year-old Høiby has been in custody since February 2, and he will remain so for the time being.
Following the end of the rape trial against the eldest son of Norway's Crown Princess, Marius Borg Høiby must remain in pretrial detention awaiting the verdict. A court rejected his appeal against a ruling from two weeks ago, as reported by the Norwegian news agency NTB. The 29-year-old had requested his release from pretrial detention at the beginning of March.
