GM Chayka Continues Maple Leafs Remake with Two Front-Office Hires
Judd Brackett will oversee player evaluation as Toronto adds scouting and data expertise after recent front-office departures.
On Monday, the Toronto Maple Leafs hired Judd Brackett as assistant general manager and Freddie Hamilton as chief of staff, continuing a major front-office restructuring under new leadership.
These appointments follow an organizational overhaul led by General Manager John Chayka, who recently parted ways with assistant general managers Brandon Pridham and Derek Clancey.
The 49-year-old Brackett, a Massachusetts native, will oversee player evaluation across amateur and professional scouting, bringing 12 years from the Vancouver Canucks and five seasons with the Minnesota Wild.
Hamilton, 34, earned his MBA from Yale University and will "support strategic planning and cross-functional initiatives" across the hockey operations department while working closely with leadership.
The Maple Leafs hold the first overall pick at the June 26 NHL Draft after winning the draft lottery, with Brackett and Hamilton now positioned to shape the organization's future.
