From 1 November, the Law Montagne II applies again in 34 French departments. From La Savoie to Vaucluse, via the south of Isère or the Diois, the Vosges or the Hautes-Pyrénées, some municipalities must impose winter tyres or anti-slip devices. An obligation still without sanction, but very real on mountain roads.

From tomorrow, Saturday 1st November, winter equipment is mandatory in more than 4000 communes in France. Vehicles travelling in the Alps, Jura, the Central Massif, the Pyrenees and the Vosges must be equipped with winter tires or have chains or socks. This law applies until 31st March.
