The Philippine authorities have ordered this Friday the evacuation of more than a thousand families living within a six-kilometre radius of the Mayon volcano, following a "moderately explosive" eruption. The operation will affect some 1,133 families, according to the provisional estimate of the emergency office in the province of Albay.
