The Russian Mouslim Aboubakarov (45) managed to escape from the Nieuwewandeling in Ghent in the summer of 2021, but it now appears he is back behind bars in the Netherlands. He was supposed to serve a twelve-year prison sentence in Ghent for, among other things, torturing an elderly lady, but managed to escape with the help of a coffee spoon.
