A 34-year-old man was sentenced to life in prison for the 2019 killing of an Azerbaijani immigrant who was shot during a robbery at his east Charlotte cellphone store. CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A man has been sentenced to life in prison for the 2019 murder of a local cell phone shop owner. Elchin Khalilov was 29-years-old when he was killed. Tyrone Miller was found guilty of first degree murder and several other charges. Miller was arrested just over a month after the crime, in February 2019 in Texas by local police, CMPD and the FBI.
