Police: Man paid to Uber 13-year-old he met on TikTok to other city, sexually assaulted her

  • On March 14, Greensburg police were contacted by a mother whose 13-year-old daughter was missing after finding a note stating she ran away, leading investigators to track her cell phone to Philadelphia.
  • The 13-year-old girl from Westmoreland County had been communicating on TikTok with 19-year-old Angel Lopez, who persuaded her to leave a note saying she ran away and not to look for her, before arranging and paying for an Uber to bring her to his apartment in Philadelphia.
  • Upon arriving at Lopez's apartment, the girl was instructed to turn off her cell phone and was given a weed pen, after which Lopez allegedly sexually assaulted her, causing her to feel uncomfortable and disgusted.
  • Fearing for her safety and wanting to leave, the victim, recalling Lopez allegedly telling her, "They won't be able to find you anyway," scattered strands of her hair around the bedroom hoping her DNA would be found, and eventually escaped.
  • Angel Lopez was taken into custody in Philadelphia and faces numerous charges, including kidnapping, trafficking, and sexual assault, with a preliminary hearing set for April 10, while officials urge parents to monitor their children's social media activity.
