Merritt RCMP Seek Witnesses, Security Footage After Man Injured in Shooting
Police are seeking witnesses and security-camera footage after a man with a gunshot wound was taken to Nicola Valley Hospital.
On Saturday, Aug. 29, Merritt RCMP responded to reports of a gunshot in the area of Quilchena Avenue and Charters Street around 10:40 p.m., launching an active investigation.
Shortly after the reported gunshot, Mounties were called to a residence in the 2300-block of Quilchena Avenue, where they discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound who had entered seeking help.
Emergency responders transported the injured man to Nicola Valley Hospital for treatment, where medical staff confirmed he sustained non-life-threatening injuries from the shooting.
Police are now appealing for the public's assistance, asking residents and business owners near Quilchena Avenue and Charters Street to review security-camera footage for suspicious activity.
