Homicide Team Investigating After Man Found Dead, Relative Arrested in West Vancouver, B.C.
IHIT says the victim and suspect were related, and police found no other suspects or ongoing risk to the public.
Early Wednesday, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team was called to a home in the Squamish Nation village of X1wemelchstn in West Vancouver after an altercation left a 43-year-old man dead.
Investigators believe the incident stemmed from a dispute between the victim and a 35-year-old suspect who are related; West Vancouver Police Department officers quickly secured the scene.
A 35-year-old man was subsequently arrested in Vancouver following the incident; homicide police confirmed there are no other suspects and no ongoing risk to the public.
Working alongside the West Vancouver Police Department, the Integrated Forensic Identification Services, and the Coroners Service, IHIT is continuing the investigation into the death.
