British police charge man with preparing terrorist acts against Reform UK's Nigel Farage
Kerry also faces a murder charge for the death of 78-year-old former member of parliament Ann Widdecombe, according to the Crown Prosecution Service.
On Friday, Joshua Kerry, 28, was charged with one count of preparation of terrorist acts, allegedly targeting Reform UK leader Nigel Farage, according to Counter Terrorism Policing.
Authorities allege the terrorist preparations occurred between May 31, 2024, and July 8, 2026, with the Crown Prosecution Service authorizing the charge following a complex investigation.
Following his July 11, 2026, arrest, Kerry also faces a murder charge related to Ann Widdecombe, 78, who was found dead at her property in Haytor, Devon.
Westminster Magistrates will hear the case on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, where Kerry is scheduled to appear regarding the terrorism charge.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Vicki Evans, Senior National Coordinator for Counter Terrorism Policing, stated the charge resulted from a "hugely intensive and complex investigation" involving detectives, analysts, and forensic experts.
