- Kevin Ruiz, 54, of Dartmouth, was arrested and charged with possession of component parts for a destructive device, explosives, wanton destruction over $1,200, and disturbing the peace, with an arraignment scheduled for Oct. 6 in New Bedford District Court.
- Responders battled flames for about 20 minutes as neighbors reported the blast; Dartmouth police received 53 911 calls, and the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad and State Fire Marshal's Office joined the investigation.
