Murder Investigation Launched After Woman Found Dead at Home
A man in his 60s was arrested after a woman was found dead, and officers said no wider threat to the community exists.
Cumbria Police arrested a man in his 60s on suspicion of murder after a woman in her 60s was found dead at a property in the Caldewgate area of Carlisle on Sunday, August 2.
Emergency services responded at 11:23 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2026, to reports of a sudden death at a home on Whinlatter Way, where the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
