- UTSC issued a shelter-in-place alert which was later lifted, while pathways into Highland Creek Valley remained closed and police maintained a large presence with vehicles and drone imagery.
- Toronto Police Service homicide unit has taken over the investigation with UTSC campus police assisting, and detectives are asking anyone in the Highland Creek Trail area on Tuesday to contact police.
- Police cautioned that `Our immediate focus is on preserving evidence at the scene, determining what happened and notifying this individual's next of kin. Because of that, there is very little information that I am able to share with you tonight,` Allington said, and there is no suggestion of an immediate threat to public safety.
