Mama Dip’s, the beloved soul food restaurant founded by Mildred “Mama Dip” Council in 1976, has officially closed its doors. Known for its comforting Southern fare and legendary “dump cooking,” the Chapel Hill institution had transitioned to takeout-only a year ago.
