Maltese translator of Dante Alighieri, Alfred Palma, passes away

Alfred Palma, Malta’s translator of Dante Alighieri’s La Divinia Comedia and William Shakespeare has passed away. He also translated works by Oscar Wilde and Voltaire and was also a prolific poet. In 2021 he was made Cavaliere dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia by President Sergio Mattarella and received Ġieħ ir-Repubblika in 2018.
