KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional’s (BN) decision to contest all 56 Johor state seats in the coming election may have stemmed from a deadlock in seat negotiations with other parties, particularly Pakatan Harapan (PH), political analysts said.

This means BN – whose lynchpin party is the United Malays National Organisation – will not cooperate in Johor with other political pacts like Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s Pakatan Harapan, as well as the Perikatan Nasional or Malaysian United Democratic Alliance in the opposition camp.
