Major EastEnders Exit Is Confirmed as Popular Star Set to Leave BBC Soap
GREATER LONDON, ENGLAND, JUN 26 – New Executive Producer Ben Wadey’s overhaul leads to multiple cast exits including Molly Rainford and Clair Norris as part of efforts to refresh storylines and trim budgets.
Molly Rainford, playing Anna Knight, will leave the BBC soap EastEnders after joining in June 2023 and starring for two years.
Her exit follows a mutual agreement after a meeting, as she considered new career options beyond the show.
Anna Knight joined the show with her family and experienced significant plotlines such as being drugged at a local club and reconnecting with her long-absent mother, Cindy Beale.
An insider said Molly was trusted with great storylines, and the BBC confirmed her exit, wishing her well for the future.
This departure is part of a wider cast reshuffle by executive producer Ben Wadey, which also includes exits of Bobby Brazier and Clair Norris.
