100% drought likely to be declared in Maharashtra by month-end, says Minister

Minister Dattatray Bharne said that the state government is standing by the farmers in distress and has decided to provide all possible help. Minister Babasaheb Patil informed that 100 percent drought will be declared in the state. After the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister review the drought-hit situation, the state government will provide immediate assistance.
Maharashtra Drought Crisis: Deficient rainfall has deepened drought in 20 districts of Maharashtra. Crops have been destroyed in Marathwada, and a severe shortage of water and fodder has forced farmers to migrate.
